Premium PLA is a high-end “easy to use” 3D printer filament, which is slightly modified with an impact modifier making the filament tougher, slightly softer, less rigid, much longer preservable and easy to print at relatively low temperatures(180˚C - 200˚C).
Another great advantage of form futura PLA – compared to regular PLA – is its low shrinkage factor, which makes Premium PLA nearly warp-free and therefore Premium PLA will not deform after cooling.
Due to its low tendency to warp Premium PLA can be printed without a heated print bed. If your printer is however equipped with a heated print bed we recommend to set your heat bed temperature to ± 35° to 60°C.
Next to its “easy to use” features, the Premium PLA filament range has an excellent roundness and very tight diameter and roundness tolerances, which makes this filament a perfect match with all common desktop 3D printers. Printing with Premium PLA printer filament will go very smoothly with basically all FFF/FDM technology-based desktop 3D printers.
PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid in full) is a thermoplastic which is extruded from the starch of plants, such as corn, cassava, sugarcane, cereals, or sugar beet. By being derived from biological resources this type of thermoplastic can be biodegradable under the right conditions (such as an active compost heap, with enough presence of oxygen) and therefore has a much lesser environmental impact than thermoplastics derived from fossil fuels.
Premium PLA does not contain any hazards or chemical substances. In fact, all our Premium PLA filaments are RoHS certified and REACH compliant.
- Very easy to print
- Warp-free printing and no deformation after cooling
- Improved flowing behaviour and inter-layer adhesion
- Good first layer adhesion to several (un)heated print surfaces
- Slightly softer than standard PLA resulting in improved strength and impact resistance
- Almost odourless processing/printing
- A wide variety of vivid opaque colors
2.85mm Premium PLA from Formfutura comes in 1kg spools.
